Match Report
Guildford Grammar School 1st XI vs  Trinity College
On: Saturday, 10 Aug 2019
Venue: Away

Another 'close but no cigar' moment for the boys this weekend, going down 1-0 to Trinity.

It's been pleasing to see the boys take more ownership of their performance over the last few weeks. Several players have stepped up in the absence of our three state representatives, with Justin and Shaan displaying calm heads, exceptional essential skills and guiding our side around the park.

Will Bromage played his second game for the first XI and continues to learn and improve, this week he played as a forward, with experienced heads Rishi and Euan continually trying hard beside him.

Special mentions to Kale who stepped up in the absence of Seb this week. He may have given me a few heart palpitations with his forays outside the defensive circle, but he did everything he could to keep a clean sheet.

Also to Lewis for showing courage and bravery beyond his years. Despite some frustration creeping into his game, he continued to put his body on the line for the team and his short corner running in particular was elite, blocking several attempts on goal at opportune moments.

One more game for this bunch in 2019 and I can't wait to take on one of the better teams in the competition and test ourselves after an enduring but exciting season.
