GGS 8A: 9/61 (20) def. by WC8A: 6/91 (20)

M Minchin 3-6 (2)

E Georgy 2-5 (2)

J Carson 2-6 (2)

Playing on a synthetic track provided plenty of adaptation to bowling plans for the spin attack of Guildford. Initial seamers J.James and O.Goddard bowled attacking lines with a fraction of shape to work with, taking 2-7 from their combined 4 overs. Only E.Tazewell struggled to find his areas on a highly unforgiving surface towards his leg-spin - producing extreme bounce in particular. He did however strike with the final ball of his spell, strutting off the pitch in style for his break - leaving the rest of his comrades to celebrate his success. MOVIE STAR. E.Georgy, J.Carson and M.Minchin provided a great return for their efforts to reduce Wesley to a respectable, yet in-reach target.

Not mentioned in the above, the serious unfortunate dismissals including a bizarre hit-wicket. Guildford, instead of seeing 92 runs as the target to beat.....appeared to be battling Wesley for the most unlucky losses of lives in a single innings. Two brilliant catches at short-extra and slip, before a direct-hit run out from the boundary AND off a no-ball, a great catch at mid-on then launching an accurate throw over the top of the bails leaving K.Jain short of his ground upon returning home. A few wild swipes from the lower order to try and keep the game alive with only a slim number of overs remaining saw some more wickets tumble and GGS missing out by 30.
